The area

The holiday flat is located in the Franco-German Palatinate Forest/Vosges du Nord Transboundary Biosphere Reserve, in the picturesque village of Bundenthal very close to the French border. It´s the perfect base for hiking, mountain biking, climbing or Nordic walking. Bizarre sandstone formations similar to those in the USA’s Death Valley are spread over the whole area. Castle ruins built from huge sandstone rocks  overlook the landscape, encompass the mysteries, legends and history of the area. The well-known wine growing area is just a stone´s throw away.

The accommodation

The flat has its own separate entrance leading via a porch into the modern style living room with a dining area and a built-in kitchen equipped with all mod cons.  A comfortable bedroom provides a restful sleep. Awell-designed bath room completes your accommodation. The living room also has a convertible sofa-bed (1,40 m x 2,00 m) for additional sleeping, along with satellite TV and radio/CD.

The rate is €80 per Night for up to two guests.

If you require a bed and chair for toddlers please don´t hesitate to ask us.

The sunny terrace faces the south west and is an excellent place to relax and enjoy the mild climate, as well as the tasty local wine and food.

If you would like to bring your own bicycles, we provide a secure and locked storage area in our garage. For light maintenance there is a small repair shop that is available for our guests. The carport provides shelter for your car at no additional cost.

Horse

If you would like to bring your own horses, we can provide fenced grassland, hay and water for just €10 per day per horse. There is also ample parking available for the trailer.

Guided tours

If you would like to arrange guided tours tailored to your needs and interests, please feel free to ask Karl. He will guide you around, show you the places of interest, and can give you a lesson in navigation with a map and compass. For those who are more adventurous, he also does guided tours – especially in the event of unfavorable weather.

Unfortunately we don’t allow pets and the house is a strictly a nonsmoking environment. If you want to smoke, feel free to do so in the garden.
